The “Childhood souvenirs” project.

Preamble. Back in mid-May 2020, after almost two months into the COVID19 pandemic, as some members were learning how to order their groceries online and were pondering their daily pastimes between visiting Balconyville again, eating or sleeping between meals, we decided to launch a writing project among active members owning an Email address, just to have something else to do.

The project was kept straightforward: simply write two or three paragraphs describing a childhood memory involving your Fortin parent, adding one or two pictures, and submit us your creation for revision and possibly some syntax changes to make your short story more descriptive.

Of the 115 members contacted, eleven replied, indicating their interest and, of those eleven members, three eventually wrote full-fledged articles of more than a page and a half which will appear in future FORTINFO  issues. Among the other eight, six are still at work on their short stories, while two members have already delivered their undertaking under the set parameters

While we wait for the six members still at work, here are the two members’ short stories.

UPDATE May 4, 2021: Two more short stories have been added; still waiting for the final two.
